The hard part is done. Years of tracking, training, medical weight loss programs, or a bariatric procedure, and the scale finally moved. Then the loose skin arrives, and no amount of effort touches it.
Skin stretched over years does not shrink back. Diet, cardio, and lifting cannot reverse it, because the tissue itself lost its elasticity. Surgery removes the excess. Nothing else does.
Most patients arrive describing the same things: clothes that fit everywhere except where the skin folds, chafing and rashes under the fold, a gym result nobody sees, and a body that still does not reflect the work.

What surgery removes, by area
Dr. Ghaznavi builds a plan around the areas that bother you most. Some patients treat one area. Others stage two or three procedures over time.
Abdomen
Tummy tuck and fleur-de-lis tummy tuck remove the apron of skin below the navel and, when needed, the vertical excess across the waist. Muscle repair addresses separation from pregnancy or rapid weight change.
Arms
Arm lift removes the hanging skin from the elbow to the armpit. The scar runs along the inner arm where it sits out of view in most positions.
Chest and breast
Breast lift restores position and shape after volume loss. Some patients add an implant or an internal bra for upper pole fullness. Male chest contouring removes the skin left after significant loss.
Thighs and lower body
Thigh lift removes the inner thigh skin that causes chafing and rubbing. A lower body lift addresses the abdomen, flanks, and outer thigh in one circumferential procedure.

What recovery actually looks like
The question everyone asks last and worries about first. Here is the honest version.
You go home the same day in a compression garment. If you have drains, they stay in for the first week. You walk the first evening, bending slightly forward only after a tummy tuck. Pain is managed with a prescription for the first few days.
Most desk-based patients return to work around three weeks. No lifting over ten pounds. Swelling peaks and begins to settle. Garment stays on around the clock for six weeks.
Cardio resumes around six weeks, lifting later. Scars start red and flatten and fade over twelve to eighteen months. Final contour shows once swelling fully resolves.
Timelines vary by procedure and by patient. Recovery for a single arm lift differs from a lower body lift.

Post-weight-loss patients present differently from routine cosmetic cases. Skin quality, tissue thickness, prior bariatric anatomy, and nutritional status all change how a procedure is planned and how it heals. General cosmetic training does not cover this. Ten years of reconstructive plastic surgery training does.

Can I treat more than one area?

Yes. Some procedures combine safely in one operation. Others are staged months apart to protect healing. Dr. Ghaznavi sequences the plan at your exam based on your anatomy and priorities.
